Bio: Bill Fischer began his career at Lear Corporation working with his team that created designs that were incorporated into three Motor Trend “Cars of the Year”, won Ford’s best new product award and received seven patents. He eventually formed an interactive design studio, Black Box, which won numerous Addy and Glima awards. He and his wife, Susan Bonner, currently operate an internet art gallery called Visualpump.com, specializing in large format, contemporary Giclee’ prints.
Selected Professional Accomplishments: Bill has received numerous awards for his drawings, paintings and computer artworks. Most recently Bill was awarded an Addy for his art direction and sound design on the Kendall animation reel.
Kathleen (Kasey) McCargar, M.Ed., Assistant Professor

Bio: Kasey McCargar began her career working in broadcast television as a news photographer and editor. Her work experience began in Spokane, Washington, then Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington, and finally Washington D.C., where she worked for CNN and Associated Press. Her photography was awarded by the National Press Photographers Association and her work on documentaries was awarded by the Associated Press and Sigma Delta Chi. She is currently a member of the Higher Education Television Authority (HETA), the Student Media Art Festival (SMart) planning board, and the Kent Career Technical Center advisory committee. At Kendall she represents the Digital Media Department on the faculty senate, the scholarship committee and the visiting artists/guest lecturers committee.

Bio: Gary Williams has developed, written, and taught many new courses in both Foundation and Graphic Design programs. He was the Chair of both of these programs for over 20 years. Gary developed and is presently teaching in the new Digital Media program.

Bio: Brad Yarhouse animations have been selections at festivals around the world including the Aspen Short Film Festival and Streaming Cinema Festival. He was one of the animators on the documentary "Beyond Freedom" which was an official selection for best short of the year at the 2006 Berlin Film festival. His animation for the Waterfront film festival was awarded second place in commissioned works by KAFI in 2007. His live action short film "The Maximum" came in first place in the True North Festival in 2008. His design work has been reviewed by Communication Arts Web site and in a number of books, including Lynda weinman's "Designing Web Graphics" and "Flash 5 Cartooning" by Mark Clarkson.

Bio: Susan Bonner (Assistant Professor) is Co-founder of Visualpump.com an Online Contemporary Art Gallery, Susan is an Illustrator who works in retail merchandising, children's illustration and murals. Susan has been involved with Murals though out the country focusing on art as a tool to bring communities together. Her Children's Illustration includes character design for Baby LeapFrog Toys contracted by Sassy. Retail Merchandising includes work for Atlicore formerly known as Amway. She has been gallery dirctor at both Kendall and Calvin colleges.

Bio: Chris Brown, over his ten-year professional career, has developed various agency and freelance projects including Flash dynamic websites, rich Internet applications, computer-based training modules, 2D and 3D animations, online games, distributable CD/DVDs and video productions. His responsibilities have included conceptualization, creative and technical direction, project management, proposal writing and copy editing, research and development of internal tools, hosting services and mastering a variety of software and tools necessary to produce numerous projects of varying scopes and budgets.

Bio: Russ Taber (Adjunct Professor) is an amalgam of designer, tinkerer and programmer writing his first commercial computer game, "Johnnie Jumpet", for the VIC-20 when he was 17. He has more than 20 years of graphic design experience living through the transition of traditional old ways, to the tsunami of computer tools.Transitioning to web design in 1995, he became a beta tester for early website editing tools. With emergence of web-based animation using Flash, he took the position as joecartoon.com's technology translator and 'webguy'. There he saw viral marketing in its infancy and the rise and fall of the dotcom boom. He is currently active in the creation of software training simulations for industrial safety scenarios.

Bio: Shane Van Oosterhout established Nimbus Inc. where he was the lead artist creating nationally recognized functional art furniture for ten years. He has won numerous awards with his fine art and currently works as an illustrator, writer and horticultural educator and photographer. Shanes first novel was completed this year and his short fiction is on line at http://jlriversmith.livejournal.com.

Bio: Wes Kempa launched his career working in interactive media for award winning firms such as BlackBox and Conduit Studios. Working primarily from Grand Rapids, Michigan, he has worked with significant national accounts such as Kawasaki, Wolverine World Wide, Steelcase, and Hush Puppies. Wes now specializes in RIA development using technologies such as Flex, Java, MySQL, and LSDS (Flash Remoting) to create complex behaviors and eye-catching data visualization within user-friendly online applications. Wes always enjoys seeing what happens when this technical knowledge is combined with the skills of the talented students at Kendall. The results are always amazing!

Bio : Comfort Love has worked for the last 5 years as a freelance illustrator/designer with her husband Adam Withers. She has done work for clients such as Green Ronin, Palladium Books, and Atlantis Studios, along with frequent commission work for individual buyers. She is currently working on her creator-owned comic book series, The Uniques, which she co-writes and co-illustrates with her husband Adam Withers and loves every darn minute of it.

Bio : Mike Dollar owns Dollar pro audio a local recording facility. He has worked with artists aspiring for record label attention in genres ranging from country to rap. He has produced radio commercials for clients such as Quaker state and Ford motor company and was the audio producer for the TV and radio show “Heaven is my home.” In 2008 he served as the audio supervisor for the national PBS TV show “”Mark Kistler’s Imagination station”. Mike has written and taught several audio classes for Grand Rapids Community College and Ferris State University Grand Rapids. He is currently running the audio end of Kendall College’s digital media department.
